Welcome to RateDeezAir (“we”, “our”, or “us”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you visit our website. Please read it carefully. By using RateDeezAir, you agree to the practices described below.
1. Information We Collect
a) Information You Provide
- Authentication data — When you log in via Auth0, we receive your Air University student email address (
@students.au.edu.pk). - Reviews & ratings — Text and numeric ratings you submit for faculty members.
- Feedback submissions — Any messages you send us through the Feedback form.
b) Automatically Collected Information
- Standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited, timestamps).
- Cookies set by Auth0 for session management.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To authenticate you and restrict access to verified Air University students.
- To display anonymous faculty ratings and reviews on the platform.
- To detect and prevent abuse, spam, or violations of our Terms of Service.
- To respond to your feedback or support requests.
- To improve the platform's features and user experience.
3. Anonymity & Reviews
Reviews are displayed anonymously — your name or email is never shown publicly alongside a review. However, we internally associate reviews with user accounts to enforce our one-review-per-professor policy and to moderate content. Administrators may access this association for moderation purposes only.
4. Data Sharing & Disclosure
We do not sell your personal data. We may share it only in the following limited circumstances:
- Service providers — Auth0 (authentication), Supabase (database), and Vercel (hosting). Each operates under its own privacy policy.
- Legal requirements — If required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of our users.
5. Data Retention
We retain your account data and reviews for as long as you have an active account or as needed to provide the service. You may request deletion of your data by contacting us (see Section 9). Upon deletion, reviews will be anonymised or removed.
6. Security
We implement industry-standard security measures including HTTPS, OAuth 2.0 authentication via Auth0, and row-level security in Supabase. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Cookies
We use essential cookies for session management provided by Auth0. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies. You may configure your browser to reject cookies, but this will prevent you from logging in.
8. Children's Privacy
RateDeezAir is intended for university students (age 18+). We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately.
9. Your Rights & Contact
You have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal data. To exercise these rights, or if you have any questions about this policy, please reach out via the Feedback page.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of material changes by updating the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
